Tell us about your role at Precede, what does your day-to-day look like?

I work in the Credit team at Precede focusing on originating and executing new loans.
It is a very exciting role which covers initiating, maintaining and developing relationships with borrowers and brokers in order to optimise our deal sourcing capabilities which then lead to underwriting these new deals and hopefully agreeing on a loan pricing and structure with the borrower and then executing and closing as much as we can!
We work very closely with the legal team to structure the new loans and also leverage the expertise and experience of our portfolio management team.
My role at Precede does not stop here. What truly sets this role apart is the opportunity to engage in a variety of projects that go beyond originating and underwriting deals, encompassing areas such as the firm’s strategy, fundraising, new ventures, reporting, and much more.

What did your career path look like before Precede?

I started my career with an internship which then converted into a full-time job in a family office working on a broad range of business sectors with only a little bit of a real estate angle but that is how I first set foot in the real estate world.
I felt pretty quickly that this was the area I wanted to specialise in so I moved to a different company in a team doing real estate lending which was not something I was particularly attracted to at the time.
After a few months, I’ve realized that being in the real estate debt space still gives you the ability to do a thorough real estate underwrite but also has the structuring angle on how to best protect your interest as a lender.

What is your favourite thing about your role?

The best part of my role at Precede is to be part of this great team where you feel that everyone is driven by the ambition to grow the platform being surrounded by very talented individuals who value the success of each individual, recognizing that it contributes significantly to Precede’s achievements.

How has your past experience helped shape you in your role now?

Having worked in the real estate credit industry for the past 8 years, I have had the opportunity to work in an extremely talented team and with exceptional mentors who have shaped the way I am looking at real estate lending. They definitely made me enjoy this industry.
