Tell us about your role at Precede, what does your day-to-day look like?
I’m part of the origination team at Precede, responsible for sourcing, screening and executing new loans. Another big part of my role is structuring capital which is often situation-driven and mostly bespoke. On top I’m supporting fundraising activities for the company. Every day is different. Some can be filled with calls and meetings with the developers, funding partners and advisors, whilst others can be loaded with analytical work, reading the documents or preparing for the investment committee
What did your career path look like before Precede?
I started my career in the securitisation team at Moody’s, following which I joined ABN AMRO’s structured credit desk. Prior to starting at Precede I spent over eight years working on acquisitions for Lone Star’s real estate fund
What is your favourite thing about your role?
My role is multifaceted and since day one I have always been intellectually stimulated at Precede. We have a great team of seasoned professionals that is fun to work with, we bounce ideas off each other and refine our skills. The work can be quite demanding but the company supports flexibility, so I can strike a balance between work commitments, time with family and hobbies
How has your past experience helped shape you in your role now?
I have had the opportunity to work both on the sell side and buy side alongside bright colleagues and it has influenced the way I think about transactions and conflicting interests of various stakeholders involved. I also would like to think that over the years of being involved in complex markets, I have learned how to cut through the noise and simplify tasks at hand
